Marketing Your Group Coaching

How do you market group coaching? This is a big question, and can have as many answers as there are coaches.  Marketing your group depends on your ideal client, how they like to be communicated with, and what has gotten you the best results in marketing your individual coaching. Have an ideal client in mind, with a compelling challenge that they want to solve. When your marketing is focused on a certain client and a challenge that keeps them up at night, it will have a greater chance of being successful.  Here are some examples -- For example, the ideal client could be a mom of a teenager and the challenge could be how to improve communication.   Then your group [...]

Price Management for Group Coaching

As someone who plans to set up group coaching during my first year as a coach, and would still be on a steep learning curve, could you suggest a rough correlation as to the cost for group coaching for an individual as compared to 1-1 coaching? Setting up a coaching group in your first year as a coach is a great idea!  It gives a more affordable rate for clients to access your coaching.  They can get an experience of you, and you can receive more income per hour with a group.  Once they get to know, like and trust you through working with you in the group, then you can enroll them in future VIP programs or individual coaching. [...]

Group Coaching – Visualizing Your Ideal Group and Topic

We’ve been talking about the six-step model of group coaching. Now it’s time for the juicy part…the CONTENT! In the third step of a coaching group, the coach provides thought-provoking questions—or jumping off points—that are related to the group theme or topic. In order to do this with ease, there are a couple pieces that need to be put into place: visualizing exactly who is your ideal group member; and determining a topic that is very juicy for this person! First, get yourself in the receiving frame of mind. You may want to step away from your computer. Instead, this is the time to nourish your creativity. Do you like to journal? Go find that beautiful pen and lovely journal. Burn [...]

Receiving Your Niche

Determining a niche is perhaps one of the most perplexing and nerve-wracking things for a new coach. Some people call it choosing a niche. Many marketing gurus say that you must make a decision about this, and that it is going to be the entire foundation of your practice, so you had better get it right! That’s a lot of pressure for a new coach! And it is unnecessary, IMHO. When I began coaching, I did not know much about niches or ideal clients. I didn’t make a conscious decision about who I would be coaching. My niche actually found me, and I received these clients wholeheartedly with great joy, because the niche was so natural to me. Your ideal [...]

Your Essence Energy

The concept of essence energy came to me when I first began to do speaking engagements. I wanted to have a deliberate way to get into a state of being that was very powerful for me while I was up in front of the room. I wanted to have a way of quantifying my own energy. What I have noticed is that each person has their very own essence energy. Your essence energy is the energy that you exude when you are feeling empowered and strong. It is the feeling you have that comes from deep within, like the name that describes my true self. It’s that feeling you get when you have gotten up on the ‘right side of [...]

Identifying and Researching Your Target Market

In this podcast I was joined by Nanci Biddle, who called herself "The Boundary Queen." Her website is www.yourcoachingpartner.com. Nancy and I discussed how a coach can effectively research a new niche market, and connect with prospective clients. Nanci described her niche market as "Baby Boomers taking care of Mom or Dad." Tune into our discussion about researching your target market. Plus, we’ve added some bonus material below regarding choosing your niche. Enjoy! Why should a coach choose a niche? It does seem counterintuitive but in fact you will get more clients by narrowing your focus. Think about this. If you had a broken leg, you might go to a general practitioner, but more than likely you’d consult an orthopedic [...]
